I would give OS maps zero stars if I could and completely agree with the last reviewer. I paid for an expensive subscription for the app which I cannot access - repeatedly have to reset the password then promptly keep getting locked out. I contacted OS maps via email on 11.1.21 but have yet to receive the courtesy of a reply. I feel scammed! Buyer beware.

The mobile OS Maps app (which employs download codes from paper maps) used to be an excellent back-up, combining familiar imaging with a GPS signal; great when a bit lost in the hills. Then the app was 'upgraded' so that it now seeks online content before displaying already downloaded maps saved on the device - which, when out in the wild and thus obviously beyond WiFi and 4G signals much of the time, crashes the app altogether. Until OS start responding to the many, many customer complaints about this their reputation will be seriously dented. Tech responses along the lines of "we can't recreate that fault in the lab" are ridiculous. Get out of the lab, try it in a remote valley with no internet access, see how hopeless the current version of the app is and then get the thing fixed. When it's done, I'll come back here and revise my rating upwards - but until then, customers may be best advised to hold off on purchases.

A once great British insitution, the Ordnance Survey, at least online, is just awful. You pay for an annual subscription, and it still BLOCKS you from taking a screenshot and printing the map you're looking at, it never remembers my password (every other website on the planet manages this), constantly demands to know my location (WHY?) and plotting routes remains tortuous and baffling. This should be so much better - sack somebody and upgrade them. Please, OS

Absolutely useless. Maps purchased are always disappearing. Totally unreliable product. I can never rely on it to be on my phone when i need it.

Worst website I've been to in literally years.

Actually pretty useless. Can’t figure out how to load a route, can never find pre-loaded routes that correspond to routes published in OS books. Disappointed.

An absolute waste of money for offline maps when you have no phone signal. IT DOESNT WORKFrom reading other complaints here it would seem this public organisation simply isnt doing its job. Why not send a 'Freedom of information' request on a subject of your choosing. Have a look at FOI on the internet They have to respond within obligatory timescales. THIS MIGHT MAKE THEM WAKEUP

Since the major android app update to version 2 a few years ago the app does not function as described. If the mobile device is out of data service or if in airplane mode the app will not utilise the downloaded paper map that is stored on the hard drive/SD card. Also when you press on the screen the pink arrow does not appear, even though the app displays the coordinates! If you type coordinates into the search box, the app once again does not show the pink arrow. Ordinance Survey are ripping customers off by suggesting that you can download the paper map to you android device and use it OFFLINE, when in fact you can't. I have sent numerous complaints to their customer service team over the past few years but they refuse to fix the issues. I would not recommend OS Maps digital products to anyone as they are not as described/advertisied

The OS maps app is not fit for purpose. You cannot use the the downloaded routes offline, which is the main reason the premium subscription was purchased. It has been faulty for months now.Avoid the OS maps premium subscription at all costs. Rather purchase Viewranger.

Ordered 4 Landranger maps. 4 arrived but wrong numbers - that is despite the delivery note clearly indicating the right numbers.Illiterate packers? Or just carelessness. Phone number not receiving complaints.

Bought a subscription in August, it won't work on mobile.. Many attempts to contact them, telephone, email, web chat. All useless. Can't cancel or do anything thru the website or app. And they keep sending me a survey asking for my opinion of them - really?!

The android version of the app does not function as advertised since they release an update in 2018. They lead you to believe that you can download the digital version of the map using the scratch off code in the paper map. This is true but what they don't telll you is that you still need an internet connection to view the map within the app. What is the point of downloading the map to your device if you need an internet connection? They keep emailing me to say that they have a fix and it will be released in one week but this has being going on for over 2 years. Rubbish customer service
